Well if actions are any indication then if one’s work is primarily of an intellectual nature essentially requiring just a computer to produce an outcome you will eventually be outsourced. Most hospital corporations have already begun outsourcing clerical, medical, physician production to whichever country that will duplicate said job at a fraction of the cost of a US worker such that they can maintain their share price and interest of their financial analyst by exceeding the previous quarters earnings estimate. If only US patients could access nationalized healthcare benefits Europe has here and then it could be a level playing field. Workers are systematically being squeezed out so trying to find a solution is essentially unlikely and remote work is in fact a justification to outsource it all.

The world continues to wobble, sometimes insidiously as with Covid, often violently as with fires, floods and wars, and all the exemplary Johhny Taylor, Jr. thinks to do is face backwards and reimpose straight lines on it. This reveals him not only as an asshole, but a dangerous one.

I'm sure there are many thoughtful people who are SHRM members, but SHRM itself will remain invalid until he and his acolytes are ousted. HR people should not be thinking of the future of HR, but of the future of work and how they might facilitate it. New world coming!
